| Marik awoke and rose out of the sleeping bag he was sleeping in on the ground. He was laying on the ground for about ten minutes before he got up, and as he did so he remained sitting for about another minute off in thought before he finally got up on his feet. He stood up tall and took a short stretch to relieve the tension of sleep from his body. He wore nothing more than a long pair of jeans, and his well built body was to be seen by anyone who was within the forest. His well abs and lean built muscles were not the best, but none the less they were definitely admirable by any man who didn't have better, and a tasty treat for women who enjoyed it.
After his stretch he bent over as he lazily picked up his shirt on the green lush grass and slid said shirt on. The shirt slipped on easily as it was 'his' own after all. It was a black arm less shirt that had the kanji for 'Death' written on the front. The title 'Death' was one Marik took upon himself proudly as he simply like the pleasure of seeing other die and believed that death was the only thing worth living for. None the less, he cherished his life very much.
Once done Marik lazily picked his sleeping bag and rolled it up before tucking it under his arm. He then looked out around the land to start his day. The hot rays of sun shined out onto the lush grass that filled the empty plain and gave it a nice look. He gazed up at the sun, using his right hand to cover his eyes so it wouldn't shine directly into them, and let out a sigh of depression. It was easily to tell by the positioning of the sun set directly above in the sky that it was around noon time. "I overslept again" he said to himself, face palming himself as he said so
It was almost always sunny in areas around the Fire Nation though, so he could have been wrong. But none the less, the heat from the sun was still annoying and formidable. Marik was not far from the Fire Nation capital, and although he knew it was risky for him to sleep in such a open field especially since Firebenders are known to be 'hostile'. He still did it none the less. He simply saw it as fun if he was captured, as he believed that if he was captured then it would be a 'fun' challenge to try and escape. It was stupid for him to think he could escape the fire nation, which had the best military among all the other bending nations, but he still wanted it to happen. For him, it was hard, but not impossible. - Quote :

| OOC: It says its an open thread, but I still like to ask, hope you don't mind me appearing. Don't worry bout the NPC stuff, its just for flavour, they won't do anything. IC: The sound of many armoured boots hitting the ground would be heard, accompanied by the rumbling din of a marching song. The sounds of animals added a discordant note as armoured warriors mounted on Komodo-Rhinos led the procession, while more of the beasts pulled the baggage train behind the infantry members. Spearheads gleamed in the bright sunlight and the aura of energy that surrounded the warriors of Hua Fa was easily noticeable. At the head of the procession Zhao Yi sat astride of his own mount, his golden eyes scanning the surroundings as his troops made their way to the nearby port city, where they would be ferried off to wherever they were needed in the war. He luxuriated in the sensation of the high sun washing across his skin and heating the ornate plates of his armour, heating his body even further. It was a delicious sensation for a Firebender. The Lord of Hua Fa's sharp gaze picked up the sight of one who seemed more than a little suspicious, and with a sharp gesture from an elegant hand, he and a small contingent of Firebenders broke off from the main group, their reptillian mounts moving with surprising swiftness as they rode across the field towards the dark haired male. The rest of the procession moved onwards at their lord's bidding, it wouldn't do for them to reach the port behind schedule. Golden eyes narrowed as he tried to place the youth's nationality, but his apparel was strange, which meant the likelihood of it being a spy was low. After all, a spy was supposed to blend in with the people they were spying on. "Ho there! Identify yourself" he called out, reigning in his mount and sliding off it. The creature snorted but remained still as he strode towards the dark haired young man, "there's no homestead for several miles in this region, so don't try to pass off as a villager, and these are the sovereign lands of the Fire Nation" his melodious voice was demanding, without seeming too aggressive, though the skull masked Firebenders behind him certainly appeared threatening enough. The young lord held himself comfortably, the polished adornments of his armour gleaming in the sunlight and an aura of capability seemed to emanate from his frame. - Quote :

| Marik watched as the swarm of rhinos ridden by men who seemed to be firebenders came marching up the streets. He squirmed his eyes to get a better look at who the strangers were and judging by there attire he had confirmed, or at least suspect that they were firebenders. There were quite a bit of them, around twenty or so, each marching attentively and were lead by one man up front. Marik knew that he had said he wanted to be captured by the firebenders one day to see what the insides of the Fire Nation was like. But of course he was just being stupid. Wanting such a thing as being captured by the Fire Nation was pure stupidity, and now he was beginning to regret he had said what he did. But maybe he could possibly 'escape' and have as much as he hope he would in the process.
He straightened himself up as he watched the swarm of firebenders draw closer to him. He could have easily made a run for it and gotten away considering the sluggish speed the men approach him at, but what fun would that be? The down pouring heat dug into a flesh as he stood in wait for a good two minutes. Boredom formed on his face as he waited irritably. "Fucking slow ass firebenders" he said through his teeth as he gritted them.
Finally the firebenders had gotten up to him and Marik stood with a cunning smile so that he would at least come off as friendly. The firebenders most likely wouldn't buy it, but he wanted to at least try it. The suspected leader up front slid of his steed as he approached Marik confidently. "Ho there! Identify yourself" the man called out. Marik furrowed his eye brow, his cunning smile still on his face, given him a confident raised eyed brow. "There's no homestead for several miles in this region, so don't try to pass off as a villager, and these are the sovereign lands of the Fire Nation" the man continued as he got up a few good feat in front of Marik.
The man was quite confident and Marik by this had confirmed that he was definitely the leader of the swarm. He had long black hair that ran down his back and looked rather old, probably in his mid twenties to say the least. He wore the standard firebender armor, although his own had a few modifications. None the less, this was no time for Marik to start admiring anyone. But he must have admit that the man was quite intimidating. His golden hue eyes darted into Marik's own violet ones, and there was a intense stare down between the two before Marik gave his answer.
"You must be the Fire Lord" Marik said his smile remaining constant as he continued, "if you are then I came here to see you. If not, then show me him immediately", as he said immediately his tone changed to a more demanding and serious one. Of course that was a lie, but the best thing for people to do such situations were to demand respect when they didn't really deserve it or well try to come off as great. This most likely would anger the man, but none the less Marik kept his face strictly stern so the man would take what he said seriously. - Quote :

| Yi couldn’t determine the youth’s nationality easily; his features were atypical for all four nations, so he was certainly wary. However he could not stop the laughter from spilling from his lips at the teen’s words. Surely he heard wrong... ”you demand to see the Firelord?” he said between chuckles, straightening up and staring seriously so quickly it would almost seem like he had never laughed at all, ”no one just walks up to the Firelord and can expect to see him. And if you think I would take a potential spy or assassin anywhere near the leader of my homeland, you have another thing coming.”He made a subtle gesture with his left hand, telling his guards not to do anything rash. The boy’s arrogant attitude towards their master and the Firelord had set their tempers ablaze, and more than one was tempted to simply roast the young man and be done with it. ”And since you completely side-stepped my question to identify yourself, I think it prudent that you come with me and my cohorts over there to the port, where you can make all the demands that you want to Home Guard” Yi stated jovially, as though he were suggesting they go for something to eat, or a stroll through a park. But really, if he was a spy, or an assassin, he was clearly one of the worst, drawing attention to himself like this. Maybe it was just testosterone fuelled bravado that had him drooling out such nonsense. Either way, Yi had a schedule to keep and he couldn’t just execute the strange youth who stood before him as if they were equals, there were due processes after all. ”You know, just once it would be nice to have things go smoothly, but of course, the spirits do so enjoy trying to get a rise out of me” the Lord just shrugged, gesturing for the dark haired teen to head towards the road where they could ‘escort’ him. ”It really would have been easier if you had just identified yourself...” he murmured to himself - Quote :

| Marik watched the man with his usual cunning smile to his lips, as the man laughed at his request. How rude Marik thought, none the less a smile on his face. The man began talking on and on about how he wouldn't take him to see the fire lord as he didn't trust him, and Marik grew annoyed as he began to think the man enjoyed the sound of his own voice. Marik glared him with fascinated eyes. His plan hadn't work - well more not like he had expected it to work, but he was sort of hoping as such things would always work in the movies. But then again, this wasn't a movie. His mind then began drifting off to a movie he had watched with a similar situation; but soon returned to the matter at hand.
Marik kept his posture relaxed none the less. People always underestimated the 'free spirited' types, and that was exactly how he intended to act so that he would seem hostile. Of course, this man was a little smarter than most though. He didn't seem like he would fall for Marik's act. But that was no problem, it would just mean that Marik would have to try even harder. and everyone knows; the harder things are the more fun they turn out to be.
The man told him to follow him so that they could well... investigate him Marik figured. Things weren't going as Marik had planned, but he none the less kept a smile on his face. He wasn't scared and was in fact more excited. The excitement of being captured by the feared and powerful conquerors known as Firebenders was enough to get his adrenaline pumping. He followed the man orders as he steadily made his way towards him, his hands in his pockets.
"If I'm going. Your holding my sleeping bag" Marik said tossing the sleeping back towards the man as he approached him, "don't get it dirty" he added. He then passed the man as he went out onto the road. "Also. I'm hungry, so you better have food" he said rubbing his stomach with slight pouted lips, "I heard firebenders eat a lot of meat". The guards would then escort him to wherever this base was. He would allow them to put handcuffs are whatever measures they saw fit to ensure he wouldn't 'try' anything, it would just make things more... 'fun'.

| Yi deftly sidestepped the tossed bag, allowing it to hit the ground beside him, it was rather tempting to set it alight, or simply leave it there for the teen to have to come back for. But he could be an innocent, and Yi wasn’t part of the Earth Kingdom, so he wasn’t going to unnecessarily cause damage. With a casual kick, he sent the bundle towards one of his men, who tossed it to another, until it was firmly attached to a Komodo Rhino, none of them being particularly careful. If you wanted respect you had to be respectful, and this youth had been rude and obnoxious from the first meeting, so the Fire Benders’ temper were slowly being fanned. ”You must be very stupid, being apprehended for spying does not come with a light punishment. Making things difficult for us only makes it harder on yourself” Yi stated casually as the men guided their ‘guest’ in between the large reptiles, tying his hands together with a long rope held in one of the Bender’s hands. Soon enough they would move, forcing him to walk in between the Komodo Rhinos as they escorted him to the port. Yi kept an eye on the boy as they went, wanting to make sure he didn’t try anything funny. ”Your hunger isn’t our concern, once you’re in custody you’re not our problem anymore, but with an attitude like that, I wouldn’t be surprised if you had meals withheld. “ the dark haired teen’s attitude surprised him somewhat, he was acting as though he were in the hands of some evil villains, when everyone knew it was the Earth Kingdom who had started the whole war, and they were the ones more likely to hurt and torment innocents. Either this boy was so out of the loop that he didn’t realise this, or there was something wrong with him, either way, it wasn’t Yi’s problem. Eventually the port would come into sight, and if nothing of any interest occurred, Marik would find himself handed over the home guard and imprisoned for later interrogation while Yi and his men continued on their way to the boats that would carry them across the ocean. - Quote :
