Air Suction[Training]

Marik rose up from under the tree he was sleeping under and dusts himself off. He had been sleeping their for the entire day so that he could train in the evening without the sun and it's annoying rays of heats disturbing him. Heat was something he hated very much and tried his best to get away from, which would explain why he hated fighting against firebenders. The fiery and hostile personality of firebenders was also pretty annoying just the same. Although if there was a girl firebender with a fiery personality he might just settle for her, as long as she was good looking.

None the less, Marik soon shook off his personal thoughts as he got out onto the fields and looked around for a while. It was around 5PM judging by the way the sun was slowly dissipating behind the horizon of the land. This was the best time to train, at least it was for Marik that is. The area he stood in was a open pasture with a few trees surrounding. He closed his eyes as he clasped his fist and put them against each other, his knuckles grinding tight against the other.

He began to feel the wind that flowed out around him even more as it blew through the air, some of it blowing his hair and clothes giving him one of those 'intimidating looks'. He already had his mind set on what technique he was going to train today, and already had a small grasp of how it worked. Which meant the only thing he had left to do was to practice said technique and hopefully master it. It would have been more wise for him to start earlier in the day and practice all day, but he was in no hurry to get home.

Suddenly, wind began to blow out away from Marik's body making large enough gust to blow the leaves of some trees. He did this for a while before he reversed the action and wind began to blow inwards towards him. The leaves that had fallen of the trees began to come towards him. It was annoying having all the leaves flying into his face but despite it Marik kept his concentration none the less.

Marik continued with this process for five more minutes before he relieved himself of the stance, letting out a deep exhale and and stretched himself out. "First part down" he whispered to himself in satisfaction.

He had split the training of this technique into three steps. He would first learn how to use wind to pull all items closer to himself using his air manipulation. This was the easiest part as all he had to do was reverse the flow of his airbending, in turn he would pull items instead of pulling. The second step was to learn how to concentrate on a single item so that he didn't have to always pull a bunch of items in with the desired item. And the last and final stage was to learn how to put more power into the ability so that pulling items wouldn't require him standing still or using too much energy.

"Next step" Marik said to himself and pulled a small rock out of his pocket before tossing it a few meters from where he stood. After the stone landed he repeated his previous action of focus, closing his eyes and clasping his fist. He opened his eyes as he stood himself in a fist stance, his eyes fixated strictly on the rock that laid in front of him. He started with his airbending and wind began to pull in from his surroundings. It was only the rock he intended to move, so things were not going well. None the less, the rock did move as well, but it came straight at him and hit him in the head.

"Oww!!! Fucking rock!" Marik bit out as the rock hit him on his fore head, causing him to stop his air bending to rub his head. After he removed his hand from his forehead there was a red spot on it from the slight bruise left there. He eyed the rock with irritation in his eyes before he bent over and reached for it again, grinding it a bit in anger before tossing it back to the same location he did before, this time with a bit more tension.

"Okay" Marik inhaled and closed his eyes once again. "Move only the rock. Only the rock" he repeated to himself. He opened his eyes once again, his eyes steadied on the rock as he attempted the suction bending again.

Things were going better than last. The air around him didn't move as much and only a small area around the rock was being pulled in. The rock shot at him from the intensity of the wind pulling it, once again aiming for Marik's head. Marik seeing the rock coming, being ready dodged the rock elegantly. The rock smashed against a large tree a few meters behind him, hitting the tree with a strong bump enough that it left a dent in it.

"Second part finish" Marik said to himself with another satisfied grin. His trainined was progressing productively. It was practically around 6PM now, and already he had gotten two out of the three steps of the training down. But then again, Marik was always a fast learner, or at least so he was told. To him he could be much faster, but he had to admit he surprised himself with how fast he was mastering this technique.

He soon got back from his state of mind as he stood still again in meditation. This final step was basically him trying to sue the technique much faster and efficient. If he could use it without the need of standing still for concentration then his training was complete. But of course it was going to be tough since he still didn't exactly know how to pull items without them coming at him with uncontrollable speeds.

He began reopened his eyes and formed smooth , yet fast movements which was followed by strong thrust which would in turn send out strong gust of wind. Airbending was known to be the second smoothest type of bending after water. His movements were fast yet smooth.

Di-satisfied with how things were going Marik stopped what he was doing. He wasn't exactly pulling anything at all. The only way he knew how to pull things was by staying still and focusing on it. Staying still in a battle to concentrate of course wasn't going to be a option. Marik ran his right hand through his silky black hair letting it rest there as he thought about another way to perform the technique without the use of standing still. It wad getting dark, and even though there was scheduled to be a full moon tonight(lucky water benders), he still wanted to finish this before night hit.

He stood there for as much as thirty minutes, and night took him there as he stood. He had gone off in thought thinking about a bunch of random things other than his object at hand. It was like him to go off in thought about something else when confused or stressed. But finally it hit him what he was missing in his training, and the answer.

Marik with a hunch of how to use the technique more effectively got back into stance position and inhaled. he exhaled as he began performing movements using his arms and feet. Instead of performing jabs and strikes he was instead pulling inwards. The leaves around him would come at him when he pulled his arm in, as if he was signaling them to come to them. He had found the answer after all.

All this time Marik's airbending was focused on sharp strikes outwards, and only very few inwards. But this technique was one that required pulling and not pushing strikes. By pulling his arms inwards towards him he would in turn pull the air along with him, and in turn the wind pull his objects. That was the answer to everything. After he figured this out his movements were much faster and he learned how to control the speed that items are pulled in at by using lesser or more powerful inward pulls.

Marik continued with his training for about another thirty minutes before he sat himself back on the large tree he was under before. He dozed off under the full moon that filled the night. Tomorrow morning he was going to practice some more, for now he would rest.
